Environmental Compliance and Certification (Core Elements for Recycled PE Zipper Bags)
Post-Consumer Recycled (PCR) Material: Mix 30%, 50%, or even 100% recycled plastic pellets into virgin material. Policy direction is clear (e.g., UK's plastic packaging tax - packaging with less than 30% PCR content will be taxed).
Recyclable transparent PE zipper bags require international authoritative certifications:
GRS Certification (Global Recycled Standard): For "Post-Consumer Recycled (PCR)" materials, manufacturers can issue TC (Transaction Certificate) to prove the source and proportion of recycled materials.
EU REACH / RoHS, US FDA / EPA: Ensure that raw materials, color masterbatches, and additives (such as opening agents) in zipper bags are safe and non-toxic, especially when used for food or garment packaging.
PPWR (EU Packaging and Packaging Waste Regulation) Compliance: For exports to Europe, must pay attention to whether packaging meets requirements for lightweight design and recyclability rate. Products comply with PPWR regulations.

Zipper Process and Closure Lifespan
The zipper area is where customer complaints most frequently occur.
Smoothness and Sealability of Closure: The mating tolerance of the zipper groove (male and female) must be extremely precise. Too tight and customers cannot open it easily, risking bag tearing. Too loose and it will automatically open, failing to seal.
Zipper Adhesion Strength: Zippers are typically heat-sealed onto the bag body. Special attention must be paid to the junction points between the zipper ends and the bag edge seals ("end caps" or "side seal areas"). These are the weakest points most prone to tearing and air leakage, requiring manufacturers to apply specialized spot-welding/pressing reinforcement.
Single Material Homogeneous Heat-Sealing: Ensure the zipper material is completely consistent with the bag body (e.g., both are pure PE). Inconsistent materials result in weak heat-sealing and failure to pass overseas recycling tests.
Physical Properties and Parameter Customization
Through three-layer or multi-layer co-extrusion technology, PCR material is wrapped in the middle layer (core layer), while the outer and inner layers use high-performance virgin PE. This improves the recycled material ratio while maintaining smooth touch feel and tear strength of the bag.
Thickness and Load-Bearing Tolerance:
Single-side thickness ranging from 40μm to 100μm or more
Customization based on loaded products (lightweight garments, hardware with sharp corners, or heavy powders)
Thickness tolerance controlled within ±5%
Transparency and Appearance:
Pure virgin material offers high transparency
Adding 30%-50% PCR recycled material results in slight crystal spots, yellowing, or grayish tone
For garment packaging, starting with 30% PCR is recommended, as transparency is closest to pure virgin material

Cost Control: Provide cost changes after adding recyclable materials based on environmental upgrade requirements (PCR pellets may cost the same or slightly higher than virgin material due to supply-demand dynamics and certification costs).
Free Factory Samples (30%/50% Tiers): The factory produces zipper bag samples using 30% PCR and 50% PCR films respectively, allowing customization based on product requirements or cost considerations.
Printing Instructions: Customization typically includes brand logo, recycling symbols (such as Mobius loop), or warning messages. Environmentally-friendly water-based inks must be used. Corona treatment is performed before printing to ensure dyne value reaches at least 38 dyne/cm, ensuring print does not fade or lose color.

Q1: What is the maximum percentage of recycled material (PCR) that can be added? How much will transparency and appearance be affected?
Our current technology can achieve up to 100% PCR. For foreign trade B2B customers, we most recommend 30% or 50% PCR tiers. At 30%, bag transparency is essentially identical to virgin material. At 50%, the bag body will have slight crystal spots (unmelted small hard particles) and a faint gray/yellow tint.
Q2: Does your factory have GRS certification? After bulk delivery, can you issue a TC (Transaction Certificate) for our order?
Our factory holds a valid GRS certification. At the upstream raw material end, the PCR pellets we purchase come with complete traceability TC. Once you place a bulk order, within 2-3 weeks after shipment, we support having third-party certification bodies (such as ITS, Control Union, etc.) directly issue a corresponding TC certificate for your bulk shipment.
Q3: Recycled materials (PCR) tend to be brittle. How do you ensure heat-seal strength at the zipper area and the lifespan of repeated zipper operations?
Due to shorter molecular chains in recycled materials, we insist on using low-ratio or pure virgin PE for the zipper strip itself to ensure high elasticity and bite force. In terms of process, we have upgraded high-frequency heat-sealing equipment and adopted widened spot-welding (pressing reinforcement) at both ends of the zipper opening ("end caps" or side seal junctions), ensuring the bag can withstand over 50 repeated opening/closing cycles without dislodging or tearing. Before factory shipment, we conduct 100% tensile strength and seal integrity inspection.
